Paul Harvey, the distinctly voiced news commentator whose radio career spanned nearly 60 years, died on Saturday in Arizona, a spokesman for ABC Radio Networks tells the Associated Press. He was 90. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/columnists/chi-harvey_rosenthalmar02,0,6976104.story An interesting tidbit, when ABC claimed, "More people get their news from ABC News than from any other source" they were counting Paul Harvey's radio program. |

Paul Harvey was a bit conservative for my taste, but I loved his show just the same. I guess I listened to him mostly on long drives across the country when his reports were a pleasant distraction from boredom and road rage. It almost became a game, trying to figure out "the rest of the story," before he let us all in on it. And that voice. What a character. |
